Stefania Rubrichi is a research scientist at Orange Labs, with the SENSE (Sociology and Economics of Networks and Services) laboratory. She received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Pavia, with a focus on medical decision support systems, based on the integration of artificial intelligence methodologies and decision theory. She earned her Ph.D. in Bioengineering and Bioinformatics at University of Pavia with a thesis on the automatic extraction of information from natural language medical text. In 2016, she also completed a M.Sc. in Mathematics for Data Science and Big Data at Ecole Polytechnique Paris, with an internship at Orange Labs on the use of mobile phone data for modeling disease spread. Her research interests range across data science domain, at the intersection of social, information and computer science fields. Currently she works in the area of mobile phone metadata analysis to quantitatively model, understand and predict human behavior, to ultimately link it to social phenomena such as epidemic spreading, education, census.
